Condolence From: Ed. and Betty Tidman
Condolence: Our sincere sympathy to the Colbourne family. Although we have never met, I must be a relation. My father was Victor Colbourne born in Lushes bight, Long Island. His parents were Jimmy and Annie Colbourne. I just happened to read this notice on the internet and wanted to send our condolences as I feel we must be related. We lived in Newmarket for 30 years and now live in Tweed. Wish we had met Chris. He sounds like a wonderful person. ED and Betty (Colbourne) Tidman

Condolence: To Aunt Mamie and the Colbourne Family: One thing about growing up in a small place is you only have a small number of friends to hang around with. So a lot of those are your relatives! And that was really a good thing for us. Chris was one those friends that I’m glad I had when I was growing up. We spent a lot of time together. I’ll always remember going to “Uncle Norms” just about every evening after school, sneaking a smoke, and playing crib with Chris. He always beat me partly because he strictly enforced the “muggins” rule! And I didn’t pay enough attention to my own points! But that didn’t bother me because we always had a great laugh! I dare say as well we played a few thousand games of pool together (a lot of those at Ron Parson’s Pool Hall). I’d have to say he won at most of those too! Playing Pool was one of many of Chris’s talents. He was one of the smartest guys I knew. We had a lot of great times together. Chris also had a lot of time and respect for his family and his friends. I’m deeply saddened by his passing. He was took from this world way too soon! But when I think about the times we had together I’ll always smile! Those great memories I’ll always have and will relish. Rest in Peace Cousin, my Friend!
