Ted passed peacefully after a long and happy life shared for 68 years with his cherished wife Jo-ann (Johnston). He is remembered with love and affection by Jo-ann and his children, Legh (and Bob), Jim, Sandi (and Ray), Brenda, and Liz (and Karl), and his niece Wendy. Also remembered by his adored grandchildren Leslie (and Steph), Kim (and Casey), Claire (and Dan), Gregory (and Abby), Jamie (and Caitlin), Jason (and Lisa), Cori (and Josh), Stacy, Michele, and Thomas. His legacy continues through a growing cohort of treasured great grandchildren, Jonny, Katie, Wyatt and Bree.

Born in Toronto to Bernard and Selina Rootham, Ted grew up in Toronto's East End. He served as an RCAF Pilot and Instructor during WWII. Ted went on to graduate from UofT as a Civil Engineer and had a long career with Bell Canada. His greatest joys were the times he spent with children and dogs.

Special thanks to the caring nursing staff at Hollandview Retirement Community and SouthLake Regional Health Centre.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made in Ted’s name to Palliative Care Unit at Southlake Regional Health Centre, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 05-385 Aurora, or charity of your choice.
