Obituary for Leonora Paxton (Murphy)

Leonora Paxton (Murphy)
PAXTON, Leonora “Norie” Marguerite – Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on Sunday July 16, 2017 in her 89th year. Loving wife, and partner of Basil Joseph Paxton for 68 years. Beloved mother of Patricia (Ray), Michael (Frances) and Robert (Stacey). Proud grandma of Christopher, Shannon, Andrew, Jordan, and Jenna. She was loved and will be missed by her nieces and nephews. Leonora is survived by her sister, June Duncan (Mike).
Her husband, children and grandchildren were her life. Leonora took great pride in her home, her beautiful gardens and was also a wonderful baker. She was a very hard-working woman who worked side by side with her husband when they had a working farm in Oak Ridges. As her mobility became an issue she always had a smile, a great sense of humour and a positive attitude and determination to keep going, thus earning her the nickname “The Energizer Bunny.”
Special thanks to the caring staff in TCU at Southlake. Friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket for visitation on Monday July 24, 2017 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. John’s Chrysostom Church, 432 Ontario Street, Newmarket at 12noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences at www.roadhouseandrose.com
