NELSON, David – Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Southlake Regional Health Centre on Sunday, October 8, 2017 in his 74th year. Loving husband of Judith (nee Strong) and beloved father of Andrew (Kyla), Robert (Claudia) and Jeffrey (Andrea). Proud grandfather of Jordyn, Liam, Matthew, Dylan and Sadie. Brother of Valerie and Janet and son of the late Edna and Bill Nelson. Born in Sheffield, England, David emigrated to Canada in 1967, settling in Winnipeg where he and Judith raised their three sons. Prior to retiring to Newmarket, Ontario, David worked for the City of Winnipeg . The family would like to thank the caring staff of Southlake Cancer Care/ Palliative Care Unit and the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre, Toronto. Memorial service to take place at the Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street S, Newmarket, Ontario, on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 7 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Cancer Care/Palliative Care Unit, 6th Floor, Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, Ontario or the Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket, Ontario.
