April 24, 1937 – November 11, 2017

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Clarence Rupert LAIDLAW on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at the age of 80. Clarence passed peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife Carmen, and children, Tyson, Glendon, Dulcie, Winsome, Melvin, Ted and Michelle; grandchildren Mark, Christopher, Samantha 1, Renee, Samantha 2 , Chase, Sydney, great grand Delano, Caleb, Aaron and Isiah; brothers and sisters Douglas, Vincent, Alvin, Jean, Audrey, Norma, Winston, and Errol; and lifelong friends Keith, Linden and Vivian. He will be missed by all of his extended family. Clarence retired from work as machine operator in 2002. He and Carmen enjoyed their leisure in Newmarket, Florida, Cuba and their original home, Jamaica; he dedicated himself to his Cedarview church family and Men’s Bible Study group; and he served in his faith community by sharing the gospel wherever he went. Two viewings are scheduled on Sunday, November 26, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket. Funeral service will follow on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Cedarview Community Church 1000 Gorham Street, Newmarket. Burial will follow at Newmarket Cemetery, then Repast from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Cedarview Community Church.
