Gray Campbell Cavanagh - Passed away peacefully with some family by his side on Wednesday December 13th, 2017 at Sunnybrooke Hospital. Loving husband of the late Esme Marie Cavanagh for 61 years. Much loved father to Glenn and dear daughter-in-law to Karen. Loved and adored by his grandchildren, Josh, Alicia and Jake. Lacey the golden retriever will miss his pocket full of treats.

Gray graduated from University of Toronto in the late 1950’s, and was Head of English at Bloor Collegiate before joining the Ministry of Education as a board consultant. He worked there for over 35 years and wrote many educational manuscripts and books. Gray loved his island cottage and spent many summers building and improving it and sharing it with family and friends. He was a handy man to the core. His love of Stratford and Shaw Festival was evident in multiple visits every year with his wife, family and friends. His generous spirit and gracious heart are what stand out to all who meet him. He left a one of a kind legacy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 19, 2017 at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 484 Water Street, Newmarket on Wednesday December 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. followed by refreshments.
