Hans Herbert Saamen (January 11, 1930) – Passed away peacefully on February 10, 2018 at Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket at the age of 88. Beloved husband for 62 years of Gertrud (nee Schimanski). Loving father of Hans Juergen (Karen) and Linda Watson (Baron). Proud Opa to Brian (Melanie), Marie (Joseph), Reilly (Lindi), Madison (Louis), Haley, Taylor and Mallory. Great Opa to Evelyn, Wesley, Samuel, George and Lila. Onkel to Wendy Neely (nee Schimanski). Hans Herbert will be remembered fondly by his friends and family as a man who was generous, giving, kind, had a unique sense of humour and was always up for a good game of skat. His determined spirit will continually be cherished and admired by all of us. Special thanks to the caregivers at Margaret Bahen Hospice for their caring, kindness, patience, and continual love. A visitation and celebration of life will take place on Saturday February 17, 2018 between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket.
