Condolence From: Dorothy (Pitters) Strachan (Ottawa)
Condolence: So sorry to hear about Leslie's passing!
I grew up with Leslie in Windsor Ontario where we lived close to one another and were great friends (along with my brother Eric Pitters).
She was a strong athlete, and a wonderful friend to many.
My sincere condolences to all whom she loved and who loved her - I'm sure she enriched your lives just as she did mine.

Condolence: Our deepest sympathy to Leslie's family & friends. I spent many enjoyable years teaching with Leslie at Aurora Sr. Public, as well as seeing her from time to time on the Newmarket Tennis Courts. She met her illness with stoic determination & grace.

With Leslie's love of photography & her talent for watercolours, here is a poem we would like to share -

Paint me a brilliant blue sky in early spring,
Brush it with lilacs during the morning dew,
Stroke it with hyacinths and daffodils.
Paint me a brilliant blue sky in early spring
And fill it with the melodies of birds that sing.

Rest in peace, Leslie.

Condolence: Over the past few years, Leslie became a great friend of my mom, Eileen and through her, she became dear to our family as well. as I will be forever grateful for the wonderful friend that she was to my mom, arranging movie-nights and Costco trips and helping her out when she was post-op. We enjoyed having Leslie to our home for various family gatherings and noted how wonderful she was with our boys. She clearly loved kids and was no doubt a stellar teacher. I had hoped that there would be many more occasions when Leslie would be able to join us - but that darn tumour had other plans. Leslie was a very giving person, she volunteered her time with KC's Cancer Cushion Fund, a local charity that I help out with that supports cancer patients who are struggling. She was also an incredibly talented person. Her artwork has a place on our walls - not just because we knew her but because her work is amazing! She will be greatly missed by many. With love, Kelly, Chris, Nicholas and William

Condolence: I painted with Leslie for quite a few years and in recent years, we formed an art group called the "Gracies" together with good friends Widit and Kathy. Leslie will be missed by so many friends. I will always remember her kind words, gentle spirit and her generousity...missed but never forgotten.

Condolence: Les was an old friend . We played tennis in Newmarket when we were younger, online Scrabble recently. Les was one of the “original “Over the Hill” group of friends who had a getaway reunion once a year . We lost touch for a while and rediscovered each other on Facebook a couple of years ago. She was a very talented photographer and artist and so very courageous.
