Condolence: Glen We all have the uncle who lights up the room , the uncle who you look forward to seeing . My youngest memories of Glen are Saturday mornings running downstairs in the am to watch cartoons and finding uncle Glen on the pull out , at that moment we knew Dads not getting up anytime soon because he was also the uncle who stays up all night with your dad drinking beers . He was the same uncle who it’s ok to swear once or twice in front of , the uncle who made you feel it was ok to say what you feel but importantly to say what you mean . My uncle Glen was always the cool carefree uncle but long ago we started seeing his faithful Mignonne his faithful companion and it was clear she had won his his heart and quickly she won my heart as well. Her soft spoken gentle presence was a harmonious balance to uncle red I will never forget the family weekends or holidays as Glen could turn the room on with one sentence Uncle Glen always would talk hockey or golf between sips of a cold beer and he would always set you straight on who was best in the league . I now live in Edmonton not far from Rexall and the Coliseum and Glen always told me stories of his times here in Edmonton and as a kid never being to Edmonton , uncle Glen was my association to Edmonton . Yesterday as I drove past the city’s statue that used to be named City of Champions , that is how I will always associate Uncle red and Edmonton now as Champions Glen played and seemed ruff and tuff but if you knew him he was just a solid man with with a heart as big as his personality I never knew the story of Glen helping my mom pursue her goals to go to college and wish I could have thanked him Sadly it takes times like this to remind me I don’t pray enough and reminds us the value of our family and loved ones . Thoughts and prayers to fgo to all of his family but especially to Mignonne words can’t tell you the sadness in my heart and how much one just wants to hug you and tell you the how much we love you . Instead of ending on a sad note I just want to say thank you xoxo

Condolence: First got to know Red real well during our 1956 outside summer job way back in Westree ON, where it poured rain for 17 days straight and we had to stay indoors, visiting Red with his many other friends in 1958 in the Weston Sanitarium and I'm reminded b/c frequently passing the building structure today, a suave Red chasing my teenage sister, and in more recent times just an infectious smiling person who brought fun and frivolity to us all. Red Remembered in our hearts.

Condolence: Dear Mignonne and all of Glen's family and extended family members we were saddened to hear of Glen's passing. As an older guy, I remember Red as a boy, a really nice kid who grew like a weed in his early teens and he was indeed a very good hockey player. his excellent obituary tells a story of a generous and caring man who lived a very accomplished life , a man who loved his family and his friends and enjoyed life to the fullest, liberally offering opinions along the way. He was great to be around and will be missed but not forgotten. Rip Glen Wayne and Stellina

Condolence: Red was a great friend and wonderful human being. I will always remember him as a political guru. He could talk endlessly about a variety of subjects and loved to debate issues. The last several years we played pool together. He was not fast EddyFelson but had some really great games. And who could ever forget his tremendous dry wit? He will be missed. My condolences to the family.
