Condolence: Dear Jean;
I apologize for the late message but I only just heard of Fred's passing courtesy of the IBM retirees rag. I was and am saddened to hear he had passed away. I knew him at IBM both from his days at Tech Support at 100 Valleybrook and later at 75 Barger Green, both in Don Mills. He would tell me of his adventures in the RAF in Hong Kong and his later times with IBM as Account Rep for BOAC in London and later in New York and still later at the aforementioned Tech Support here in Toronto. We hit it off right away. He once called me Old Horse. I responded by calling him "Sunbleached Pear"! He gave me a puzzled look and a loud chuckle when I gave him the reference (available upon request if necessary.)

We would exchange e-mails at Christmas but sadly I missed any notice of his death (the new IBM has let these notices fall between the cracks.) I hope you take comfort in knowing that Fred was a good man to know and will be missed. Godspeed to him...

Condolence: My condolences to all members of the Ede family. I had the pleasure to meet Fred several times throughout the years via Jonathon and Trish and to my pleasant surprise found we shared some similar tastes in music. I thought he was cool☺.

Condolence: Dear Jean; I was so very sad to learn of Fred's passing. Condolence: Dear Jean

Our condolences and thoughts are with you and your family. Although we have only known each other and have been neighbours for a short time, Fred has made a lasting impression. He has been such a thoughtful, considerate, and patient person (particularly with Vivienne and her energetic ways). Everytime we look out the window and see the sun shining down on your beautiful garden we will be thinking of Fred.

Condolence: Dear Jean,

Though we have not met, my thoughts are with you. I operate the Newmarket Camera Club and it was consistently a joy when Fred came to our meetings. He was always positive and always funny. Folks really enjoyed having him as part of our community.

With sympathy and sincerity,
