Obituary for Ruth Cecelia Joshua (Braam)

Ruth Cecelia Joshua (Braam)
JOSHUA, Ruth Cecelia
Passed away peacefully at home in Newmarket, on Wednesday June 6, 2018, at 85 years of age. Loving wife of Sam Joshua for 40 years until his passing. Beloved mother of Peter and Myrna (Elihu). Proud grandmother of Heather (Douglas), Melanie (Lee), Joshua (Kate), Alexa and Marc. "Great"-grandmother to Madeleine, Nathalie, Eli, Alexander and Sebastian. Predeceased by brothers: Vincent, Gerald and Ronald Braam. Daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth Braam. Ruth was born in Kimberly, South Africa on August 17, 1932. A natural teacher, she spoke fondly of her work teaching primary school, working with youth groups and organizing Sunday school. After moving to Canada in 1969 Ruth devoted much of her volunteer time to Trinity United Church and the United Church Women of Canada. She was a wonderful friend and always ready to reassure, listen and guide. After over 25 years working at Hudson's Bay Company, Ruth retired and spent even more time volunteering at the Southlake Regional Health Centre, attending bible study groups, and being a grandmother to any and all. Please see the website or contact Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home for details regarding her celebration of life to be held at Trinity United Church, 461 Park Ave, Newmarket ON. If desired memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Church.
