Blackshaw, Iva Irene (nee Rye) – passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in her 98th year. Predeceased by her husband William Blackshaw. Loving sister of Ruby Crone and the late Ruth Sedore. Iva will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. A long-time resident of Newmarket, Iva was a career driven women who retired with Bell Canada after many years. When Iva wasn’t working she volunteered at Southlake Regional Health Centre for 45 years and strongly supported Grace Church and many other charities. Visitation will be held at the Grace Church, 221 Carlson Drive, Newmarket on Friday, January 20 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. with a service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment at Newmarket Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Iva’s memory may be made to the Christian Blind Mission or World Vision.
