Douglas Gardiner
Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Veteran Centre on Sunday May 7, 2017 at the age of 101. Beloved husband of the late Ina. He leaves behind his daughter Ann Prestwich (Neil). Proud Papa of Sue Berry (Dave), Amy Thacker (Colin) and Lisa Prestwich (Chris McCrone). Great grandfather of Cameron, Maddox, Owen, Miles, and Liam. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Doug was a World War II veteran with the 48th Highlanders and was a TTC Employee for over 30 years. The family would like to extend their thanks to all of the staff of K3-Wing at the Sunnybrook Veteran Centre and a special thank you to his personal caregivers. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 13, 2017 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. followed by private family interment. Memorial donations may be made to the Veteran Comfort Fund at Sunnybrook.
